Minister Moore Announces Renewed Youth Program Funding - The Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced a $60-million investment in youth programs that will give young Canadians more opportunities to get personally involved in activities that strengthen their attachment to Canada.

Canada Council for the Arts invested $158 million in 689 communities in 2008-09 - Over $158 million was awarded to more than 4,400 artists and arts organizations in all regions of the country last year, the Canada Council for the Arts announced today in its 2008-09 Annual Report.

CCA Cultural Policy Workshop: The Politics of Arts and the Art of Politics - In coordination with local arts groups from around Canada, the Canadian Conference of the Arts (CCA) will host workshops, available in both official languages, which will inform participants about how public policy shapes the nature of arts, culture, and heritage in Canada. We hope to show you the best ways of making an impact on these policies.

Canada Celebrates Canadian Museums Day on Parliament Hill - Over 50 museum professionals from across Canada will be meeting today with members of Parliament and senators to make the case that Canada's museums require more substantial and stable federal support. The day will culminate in a reception hosted by the Honourable Noël A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate.

CODE Screen 2010 brings Canadian art to your fingertips - It is an art gallery without the tired feet. No walls or parking, a zero intimidation factor and admission is totally free. Called CODE Screen 2010, the aim of this series of online exhibitions is to take a sample of Canada’s best and most thought-provoking contemporary art out of the museum and onto computer screens everywhere.

Federal Renewal of Cultural Investments - On June 26th, at the Vancouver Arts Summit, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, James Moore, announced $504 million worth of renewed arts funding for the next five years to be administered through the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Canada Council for the Arts.
